The Boys of the Concorde is an original RocketTube story that we’re hoping will become one of your favorites! It’s an online tale of lust, deceit, payback, the endless search for oneself and happiness. It’s the newest addition to the RocketTube Blog family and we hope you’ll enjoy the ride. It’s a turn in a different direction in terms of our normal content, but we hope you’ll appreciate the treat that’s in store should you choose to follow the story. This week, we’ve introduced you to Bastian Jones and Marcell Hampton. Tonight, you’ll meet the final friend, Cordero Colby.

The groom was immaculate from head to toe.  He wore white and the diamonds on his finger were enough to make Victor Newman blush.  Cordero Colby, affectionately called Cord by those who loved him, was about to take the big plunge.  At 45, he’d waited his entire life to experience the type of love that he was experiencing with his soul mate.  Now that it was here, he really couldn’t believe that the Gods could give him this much joy after so much heartache and drama with other men.  “The Gods must be crazy”, he thought to himself.  He closed his eyes and pinched himself to make sure that he wasn’t dreaming.  When he opened them, he was still there.  His time was here and now.

Cordero had been unlucky in love through most of his 20’s, all of his 30’s and some of his 40’s.  When love failed, he fell back on his career and became very successful with a chain of his own restaurants all over the U.S. that all cooked his recipes.  He was a culinary force with cookbooks, restaurants and other branded items in countless grocery stores.  After so many relationships crashed and burned, he was ready to hang up his heart and go adopt 20 cats so that he could eventually be featured on a show about animal hoarders.  One day he was en route to the local humane society when he had a small fender bender.  Upon seeing and talking with the driver of the other vehicle, he knew he’d met his soul mate and he never looked back.  Cord chuckled as he remembered how they met.

He was enjoying his alone time in his suite before the big “I do” when there was a knock at the door.  It was his wedding planner. She wanted to check on her groom just to make sure everything was fine.  Cord was a control freak, but he relinquished all of that for his special day and even decided to see everything for the first time when he walked into the wedding venue. He and his planner made their way to the elevator because it was very close to show time.  He was checking himself out in the mirror while they waited on the elevator to arrive.  He pinched himself again just to make sure one last time that he wasn’t dreaming.  The bell rang indicating that the elevator was there and he jumped back to reality.  But before they could step in, his fiancé stepped out.  Cord knew immediately that something wasn’t right.  His fiancé uttered the words “I’m sorry” and then collapsed.

Last night, we introduced you to Bastian Jones. Tonight, meet his friend Marcell Hampton.

In his mind, he was the sexiest thing alive. However, on this night in the city of Atlanta, Marcell Hampton was far from confident. He was at the bottom of the barrel and the bottle and there was nowhere else to go but further down. He looked at his view from the top, wondering if he was the only one in the city who felt so alone and without purpose. He took another sip from his bottle and started to cry, something he never did. He was ready to end it all and the ledge was only a short distance away.

When people thought of 27-year-old Marcell Hampton, words like sexy, arrogant, stubborn and whorish came to mind. He possessed every good physical quality that you could imagine. A nice body, seductive eyes, a plump ass and a smile that would make you fall to your knees; assuming it wasn’t his 9-inch dick that you saw first. He was in many ways perfect and he knew it.

Marcell had a habit of hooking up with any and everyone who gave him just a little attention. This meant that he was always hopping out of someone else’s bed and into another one; constantly changing the sheets on his own bed. He made his lovers all feel like they were the only one. As a matter of fact, he hadn’t worked in over a year because one of his fuck buddies was a filthy rich attorney who thought he was Marcell’s one and only. Marcell was truly lucky and he had all that he ever wanted even if it was at another’s expense. It’s only poetic for someone with everything to lose it all. That was his new reality. He’d allowed himself to get carried away and now, he wanted to walk away permanently. He had the audacity to think that he was invincible, but he never felt more mortal than in that moment.

He was very naïve when it came to his sexual adventures. He didn’t ask any questions and if his partners didn’t offer any information up front, he assumed there was nothing that he needed to know. That type of out of sight, out of mind attitude would be his ultimate undoing. He walked to the ledge and examined the distance down just to see how long the fall would be. He took another sip and continued to look down…

Bastian paced back and forth in the high-rise condo that he’d broken into still deciding whether or not he was going to follow through with his plan.  He was such a drama queen.  He was dressed in all black; black skullcap, black gloves, black jacket and jeans.  He’d taken everything that he’d seen on his favorite crime shows and put it to good use.  If people didn’t know any better, they would have assumed that he was going to a costume party.  Nonetheless, he was on a mission and it was go hard or go home.  He continued to pace back and forth until he heard the sounds of someone talking outside the front door.  He quickly ran and hid in the closet of the nearest room.  He pulled out the gun that he’d tucked in his jacket and waited. He continued to hear the voices and they were getting closer and closer.  He knew he was going to have to act fast.  All of a sudden, the closet door opened and he was face to face with now or never…

Bastian Jones was a 32-year-old successful writer who had penned 3 best selling novels over a 5-year period. He often wrote about real life experiences that were sold as fictional tales.  People loved his books because they could relate to his off the wall stories.  No matter how extreme they seemed, someone could always relate to his tales of love gone wrong.  He had already lived most of his tales and he was adding another chapter on this night.  He was “back” in the closet, gun cocked, full of high tension and lying in wait just like one of the characters in his stories. The only difference was that unlike his stories, he wasn’t sure how this story would end; but he was certain that someone would not be leaving the condo alive.

Bastian wasn’t always this bold or murderous. He was a really shy, yet outgoing guy.  He always seemed to blend well when he could; but other times, he could be an introvert.  If he was drunk, he was Mr. Socialite/Fighter. He was a hard ass by day and a hopeless romantic by night.  He could often be found connecting with romance movies and drifting off into space as he imagined himself in the movies with the man of his dreams.  But his knight in shining armor never came and that’s why he was hoping to teach a lesson to the latest person to bruise his heart.  He was dealing with yet another bad relationship, but this time, he wanted to make sure he ended things his way.  He often wore his heart on his sleeve and that was the cause of many of the problems that he’d experienced in his love life.  Now he was out on a limb, motivated by hatred and heartache…

Sweetie Darling… If you walk into a crowded room and utter those two words to anyone within earshot, you’ll likely find that most, if not all, know the reference.  If you don’t know the reference, it’s time to play catch up.  The award-winning, groundbreaking, champagne, drug and plastic surgery-filled comedy Absolutely Fabulous returns to tv this Sunday, January 8th.  Sunday will mark the first of three 20th anniversary specials to air on both BBC America and Logo.

As if the return wasn’t good enough, the entire cast will be reprising their roles. Just to school those who don’t know, Absolutely Fabulous follows the lives of two best friends, Edina (Jennifer Saunders), an International PR wizard and Patsy (Joanna Lumley), a sexually-charged magazine editor. Need I say more… Champagne isn’t just a celebratory drink for these two best friends; for them, it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner and any other moment during the day.
