Most of you probably don’t know that RocketTube has a blog. It’s okay… I’ll let it slide this time. In the past, you had to be a real page surfer to find it, but now we’re making it easier for you to connect with us and catch up on all things porn and pop. You can now find “Our Blog” on our homepage. Check out the screenshot below and make sure you use it. This is where you’ll find our contests, exclusive interviews and much, much more. Make sure you follow us on Twitter (@RocketTube) as well because whenever we post something to the blog, a tweet is sent automatically alerting you. Enjoy!

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of an exciting enhancement to RocketTube.  This will help make your movie watching experience so much more enjoyable by helping you keep track of your favorite videos.  You can now subscribe to your favorites and be alerted when new videos from that member have been uploaded.

When you’re watching a hot video on RocketTube, check out the top of the video and the name of the member who posted it. You’ll see a button labeled “Follow” right next to the member name.   If you click this button, you will now be notified when there are new videos by this member.

The same action can be enabled if you’re under the member’s profile page.

If you look in the My Videos section of the profile, you’ll see a button labeled “Subscribe to my videos.”  This will complete the same action as the “Follow” button referenced earlier.
Now when you log into RocketTube and new videos are available from your favorite members, you’ll now receive a “drop-down” message at the very top of your screen.  The “drop-down” message will tell you how many videos have been posted by your favorite users since your last login.

This “drop-down” message is only available on the RocketTube homepage.  If you click the “click here” hyperlink, it will take you to your subscriptions page (titled My Subscriptions).
The “My Subscriptions” will show you the 5 most recently uploaded videos from all of your subscriptions.  If you want to see more than 5, select “View All”.  If you want to unsubscribe, select “unsubscribe.”

You can also unsubscribe from members if you watch one of their videos.  The “Unfollow” button located at the top of the video near the member name will take care of that request.

There’s another place you can find your subscriptions.  If you hover your mouse over your member name located at the top of the screen, next to “Log Out” – you will see a drop-down.  Simply click, My Subscriptions.

There’s another great feature that you’ll enjoy.  If you haven’t logged into RocketTube for more than 7 days, you can now receive an email notification letting you know.  To enable or disable this feature, you can hover your mouse over your member name as described in the previous step and select “Edit Profile & Settings.”  Scroll down to the bottom of your profile and then click the arrow for “Settings & Password.”

You can enable or disable the “Notify me by e-mail of my latest subscription activities” from this area.

Job Description – Our Social Media Maven will be responsible for managing our presence across the entire universe of social networking sites and applications in order to raise awareness of our products and bring more users to our websites. Primary responsibilities include the following:

• Create and execute a plan to increase our social media presence, build followers for our social accounts, and increase readership of our blogs and email lists.  Continually measure and evaluate the results of these efforts and refine strategy as needed.

If you visited RocketTube yesterday, you may have received a warning from Google or from your browser informing you that RocketTube might not be safe to browse due to spyware / malware hosted on our site.

On Friday afternoon we discovered that OpenX, the system we use to display advertisements, had been compromised by hackers who used it to place bad code on our pages. We worked quickly to remedy the problem, but Google and other malware reporting organizations had RocketTube blacklisted for many hours after the problem had been fixed.

The problem was real, but we want to stress that the bad code was on our site for a very short time, and the chances of your computer being infected from anything on RocketTube was very slim. Still, we recognize that we must do a better job of protecting our members and users from these kinds of threats . We’ve hired a security firm that specializes in malware attacks to help us prevent anything like this from happening in the future.

We are not a huge company who views our users as “traffic” – we are a small, gay owned and operated website striving to create a destination with a real online community. Our users are the most important part of those efforts and we are committed to keeping you safe as your browse and interact on RocketTube.
